About Lindsay Jarman
Hi, I’m Lindsay, and I specialize in helping kids, teens, and their families find balance, harmony, and connection through play.
I have training in various therapeutic approaches like Sand Tray Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, and Observed Experiential Integration.
I believe in an approach that combines attachment theory, family systems, mindfulness, and person-centered therapy.
My approach
My therapeutic approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy. My approach focuses on the nervous system, recognizing its crucial role in their mental and emotional well-being.
Through unique play-based modalities and techniques, I work with children on a deep level, helping them regulate their nervous system and shift their perspectives. My goal is for each session to be a catalyst for positive change, where children and their caregivers feel empowered and transformed.
I strive to create a supportive environment where families can heal together.
Get to know me
I have worked in the school system as an educator and counsellor for 15 years. It is my belief that everyone deserves to be seen, to belong and to feel safe within. Children do well when they feel connected to themselves and others. Humans are designed to become dysregulated, it is how they learn to come back to themselves that is most important. When they learn to use mindfulness strategies, somatic practices and have an adult to co-regulate with; over time, their bodies will automatically know what to do when they are in a dysregulated state and they will have built the capacity to maintain resilience.
I work with the family as a system, as everyone is connected, and works in harmony together when all of the nervous systems are aligned.
Education and experience
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) trained in level 1 (OEI) Observed Experiential Integration, which is born out of EMDR. I am a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, which is an experiential form of play therapy, has Gestalt roots, is Child - Centered and helps us be in relationship, with oneself and others.
I am also a level 3 certified NSST therapist. NSST is Neuroscience, Satir and the Sand Tray. This modality was developed by the late Dr. Madeleine DeLittle. It involves creating safety in the body using the novel metaphor through right brain to right brain attunement.
This process is facilitated by using the sand tray and figurines, which help the client explore implicit memories in the unconscious. It has a lasting transformative impact on the body and nervous system, allowing for the right and left brain hemispheres to integrate, creating new neural pathways. When blending NSST and SPT there is magic! True change is embodied.
